Martin Denny - Exotica

The record that defined a genre.

Exotica is Martin Denny’s debut and the blueprint for everything that followed. Blending lounge jazz, tropical rhythms, bird calls, and unconventional instrumentation, this is where the sound of exotica fully takes shape.

Centered around “Quiet Village,” one of the most recognizable tracks in the genre, the album moves between playful and immersive. It creates a world. Layered, atmospheric, and unlike anything else at the time.

This edition presents the original mono recording, the version Denny preferred, along with bonus tracks that expand the session.
