João Gilberto – Chega de Saudade (Limited Edition Green Vinyl)

Originally released in 1959, Chega de Saudade is widely recognized as the album that introduced bossa nova to the world. With João Gilberto’s understated vocals, innovative nylon-string guitar playing, and elegant arrangements by Antônio Carlos Jobim, the record established a new sound that would forever change Brazilian music and influence jazz, pop, and Latin music around the globe.

This WaxTime In Color edition is pressed on 180-gram green vinyl and includes eight bonus tracks drawn from Gilberto’s earliest recordings, making it an excellent introduction to one of the genre’s defining artists. Also included are extensive liner notes and essays exploring the origins of bossa nova and the lasting legacy of this landmark album.
