Hermanos Gutiérrez – Low Sun b/w Los Chicos Tristes (7” Vinyl Single)

Hermanos Gutiérrez bring their unmistakable cinematic guitar sound to the 7” format with Low Sun, backed by a reimagined version of “Los Chicos Tristes” from El Michels Affair featuring Jensine Benitez.

Built around the interplay between brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez, “Low Sun” captures the spacious, atmospheric sound that has made the duo a favorite among instrumental music fans. Warm guitar tones, hypnotic melodies, and a distinctly Western atmosphere evoke wide-open landscapes, dusty highways, and sun-soaked desert horizons.

On the flip side, El Michels Affair puts a fresh spin on “Los Chicos Tristes,” bringing the group’s signature cinematic soul approach to the brothers’ evocative guitar work, with a featured performance by Jensine Benitez.

Produced by Dan Auerbach and released through Easy Eye Sound, this two-track single brings together contemporary instrumental guitar music and the rich traditions of Latin-influenced psychedelia.

Why We Carry It

Hermanos Gutiérrez make the kind of instrumental music that immediately draws us in. Their sound blends Latin guitar traditions, cinematic Western influences, and a sense of atmosphere that feels right at home alongside the surf, exotica, and instrumental records we love.

Pairing “Low Sun” with an El Michels Affair remix makes this an especially interesting little 45. It’s a beautiful crossover between instrumental guitar music and psychedelic soul, and exactly the kind of record we enjoy introducing to listeners looking beyond traditional surf.
